A statutory body, ADTA has been operating since 2004 under the Government of Abu Dhabi's economic diversification strategy. The authority has wide-ranging responsibilities for the development and promotion of the emirate's tourism industry and international positioning as a world-class destination of distinction. Its remit includes destination marketing, infrastructure and product development and regulation, training and licensing.
All exhibitions, conferences and meetings in Abu Dhabi require a license and ADTA is the licensing authority with the responsibility for the licensing of conferences, meeting and exhibitions falling under the authority's Tourism Standards Division.
Exhibition Licensing
This is mandatory for all exhibitions that will be staged in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. An exhibition is defined by gross exhibition space in excess of 1,000 square metres and that it contains commercial or transactional elements such as exhibition space sales and event sponsorship. The License can be provisionally granted for up to 5 years subject to annual renewal. Cost = AED 5000
Conference Licensing
This is mandatory for any conference, meeting or workshop that will be staged in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. A conference is defined by a meeting of multi-representational delegates and where a delegate/attendance fee is payable. Cost = AED1000
A conference that includes a mini exhibition is classified as a conference as long as the gross space of the exhibition is less than 1,000 square metres, Please Click here to apply.
